Quick-Reviews: Bon Jovi & Pretty Maids

Hey folks,

first of all I wish you guys a Happy New Year! I hope you enjoyed the time with your loved ones.
After a long break (I think 3 months) I finally found the time to write some new stuff here. I posted my review to the forthcoming GOTTHARD album some hours ago and now I'd like to write something down to two major releases from the end of last year:

- BON JOVI - "This House Is Not For Sale"
- PRETTY MAIDS - "Kingmaker"

Special: The biggest disappointments in 2015!

Hello folks,

it's December and the end of the year is near, which means it's time to look back once more. What can I say about 2015? I think for many of you it was a good year for Rock'n'Roll, but to me it was not. All my favorite bands released their stuff in 2014 and so not much was left for 2015. I also attended just one concert this year, which is very disappointing. But I'm really looking forward to 2016 when we will see new releases of Avantasia, Shakra, Axel Rudi Pell, Gotthard, Dynazty, Reckless Love, Richie Sambora (hopefully), Pretty Maids and many more. This will be a great year! But of course 2015 had also some good albums and songs to offer, which I will present you in the next few weeks. For now I'd like to start with the three biggest disappointments in 2015. Please keep in mind that this is a very subjective list and view on things, maybe you see it differently. Let me know what you guys think in the comments below!

CD-Review: Bon Jovi - "Burning Bridges"

It was a huge surprise when the guys of Bon Jovi announced a new album just four weeks ago. But to be honest it isn't that "new", because "Burning Bridges" consists mainly of songs that were originally written for older albums. It's not a collection of demos, because the tracks were recorded a few months ago, so this LP is supposed to be a "fan album" to fill the gap until a brand new record arrives in 2016. It also marks the first record in Bon Jovi history without Richie Sambora on guitars (which makes it to a Jon Bon Jovi solo record in my opinion, but later more on that). The big question is: can this album shine, where its predecessor failed?

Live-Report: RICHIE SAMBORA feat. ORIANTHI live @ Huxley's, Berlin (June 22nd, 2014)

It was around two years ago when I wrote my first live-report to Richie Sambora's "Aftermath Of The Lowdown" show in Berlin. It was the same venue, same people (I've seen lots of people, who attended the show in 2012) and also most of the musicians were the same. So what was different at this evening? First of all of course the appearence of the Australian Rock chick Orianthi, a new setlist and the fact that Richie reached a point in his life where he is absolutely satisfied with himself and with those things he wanted to reach two years ago when he decided to be a solo artist again.

R&M4U-Classics: Bon Jovi - "New Jersey" (1988)

Today I reveal another classic for you: Bon Jovi's "New Jersey" from 1988. I've already mentioned that album in my last post and I thought it's time to discuss this album, because Bon Jovi was the most important influence in my youth and their older records still define my taste of music today. With this band everything started. I was 12 years old when I listened to "It's My Life" for the very first time. I loved that song so much, so I got their album "Crush" in 2000. That was my first rock record and with that one I started to discover the whole Bon Jovi discography. But it's not about "Crush" here, because this one is by far not the best album Bon Jovi did.

RICHIE SAMBORA will not be performing on upcoming Bon Jovi shows!

Sad news for all Sambora-Fans:
Richie will not take part in the next leg of the Bon Jovi tour! This was announced on the official band page. It is not specify when or if Richie will rejoin the band. So the tour continues without him through the USA in April and later in South Africa and Europe.
The official statement just says "Due to personal issues, richie Sambora will not be performing on this upcoming leg. All shows will go on as scheduled". There is no reason or an information who will replace him yet.

In April 2011 Richie left the tour also. The reason was rehab, but this time Richie seemed to be in top form. I'll keep you up to date if there are more informations!

Update 1:
It seems there is a dispute between Richie Sambora and Jon Bon Jovi about money and Jon's attitude towards Richie. This is reported by tmz.com.
Please keep in mind that this is just a rumor and nothing official to date!
In the meantime guitar player Phil X will handle Samboras part on stage and Bon Jovi announced that every ticket purchaser can get a refund on the tickets before show time.

CD-Review: Bon Jovi - "What About Now"

It took them nearly 4 years to record a new album, but now they are finally back: the rock legends of New Jersey - Bon Jovi.
The band promised that their new record "What About Now" will be a "big rock record" ... but they said this a hundred times before with each new longplayer. So what can we really expect? Let's find out!

BON JOVI - tracklist of "What About Now"!

Bon Jovi revealed the tracklist of their forthcoming album "What About Now", which will hit the stores in March! There will be two different versions: a standard version and a deluxe version with 4 bonus tracks. One of them is Richies single "Every Road Leads Home To You", which was originally released on his solo record last year. I wonder if this is the original or a new version with Jon on vocals. We'll see ...

RICHIE SAMBORA - Live Review Berlin, 13.10.2012

Hey friends,

after the good resonance I had yesterday with the Gotthard Live Review I decided to do another one. This time the gig is almost 5 weeks ago but better later than never ;)

I think most of you know this guy: Richie Sambora - guitarist of one of the biggest Rock Bands in the world (for those who don't know: Bon Jovi^^) released after 14 long years his third solo record, called "Aftermath Of The Lowdown". Just this fact was a reason to celebrate. I never thought he would do a solo tour again. But he did - Richie played a sold-out-tour in Europe ... and I was there - in Berlin.
